First Lady speaks at US Conference of Mayors

January 27, 2010

Having the First Lady Michelle Obama deliver the keynote address at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, last week is a huge asset in ensuring childhood obesity receives the national attention it deserves. Mayors are the perfect partners to work with the First Lady, to drive solutions, as they provide leadership in their respective communities and care deeply about the welfare of their constituents.

ACFN is thrilled that the First Lady has challenged mayors across the U.S. to compete in providing the White House with ideas and input. ACFN plans to work with mayors to implement integrated approaches that match professional nutrition and physical education coaches to employ fun, modern and proven methods to effectively engage kids in learning the importance of balancing calories consumed, with calories expended through their daily activity and play. ACFN’s innovative approach can be delivered in schools and community-based programs. Read more about the Michelle Obama speaking on childhood obesity before the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
